A buzzing class last night at www.essexfightingarts.weebly.com and welcome to our four new students, Jody, Ryan, Kassie, Roy and welcome back to Paul. All fitted in really well with the right attitude to learning and I am very sure all will progress nicely in the coming weeks / months. Was mainly bringing everyone up to speed last night with padwork, stances and techniques etc and a huge thank you to my long term (not old ha ha) students Ken, Will, John for stepping up to the plate and doing a great job of assisting with the teaching. Following on from the padwork we went through single arm hubud with c-grips, wiping the arm off from high and low positions as well as bicep destructs to remove the arm and counter. I then squeezed in 5 for 5 hubud with an upright (Chung Choy) fist to give our new members a feel for one of the 40 variations hubud has to offer. Jody made a good suggestion which was on my mind also which was to include this in one of the videos that we produce to help with the learning process so I will get this sorted for you all. Overall over the moon with the class and great to see some young blood in the class with EFA’s first ever 16 year old who did great and picked up loads. See you all next week and have a great weekend, Ouss…

AuthorSensei Dean Baldwin WelcomeWelcome to the Essex Fighting Arts Blog. I always try to give an overview for each class with a re-cap of what was taught, terminology & ethos behind the techniques used. As well as any introductions, announcements or fun things that happened during the session. Enjoy! 😉
