Nick Holdich - 3 Year Veteran of EFAThe average punch or kick can take seconds, if not less, to reach you when your attacker throws it. Imagine if you were able to slow that down so it feels like minutes. You'd easily be able to stop it, react to it and maybe even throw something back, right?
Well that's exactly what EFA does. It prepares you for what may be ahead. Take a lump of clay and sculpts a masterpiece. I came from a basic boxing background nearly fifteen years ago and walked into the unknown with EFA all those years later. I was borderline 18 stone of pure unfit and didn't know what I was letting myself in for. Didn't know a hook from a roundhouse. But, the stubborn, determined, competitive person in me pushed me to keep coming back. At first I fought back the urge to throw up or collapse but I kept pushing through the pain and needless to say after 3 years I become a confident, fit and strong individual. Sensei Dean (Skipper) can help you become what you want to be. Offers advice, works at your own learning pace and listens to what you have to say. EFA is also a family that will support you and let you vent your frustrations whenever the mood takes you. Be a part of your own future.......I did, thanks to EFA. |
I was a little worried about going to a self-defence class at my age and level of fitness. However, I found training with Dean Baldwin, from Essex Fighting Arts, to be a really great experience.
I learnt some very effective kicking and punching combinations as well as being able to practice Filipino stick fighting. Dean is be amiable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He made sure that I was safe and that I did not push myself beyond my limits. His students are respectful, friendly and helpful. If you would like to to increase your levels or fitness, confidence and your ability to defend yourself, I highly recommend Dean Baldwin from Essex Fighting Arts.
