Another awesome class at Essex Fighting Arts and another video done, this time with the rising knife crime in mind. We decided to run through Dikit (sticking) within the lesson but also within the video to give a taster of knife sensitivity drills. These drills are progressive and with the end goal of reactive knife play rather than the predictability of a set drill. The drills however really help muscle memory and to hone the skills and strips included reacting to movement and energy.

Was great to see you all progress through the series of Dikit drills and at the end was flowing much more fluidly reacting much more to movement in what I call the subconscious meets the conscious. Was a few variations of knife strips along with the best way to get the best out of them. Not sacrificing techniques for speed is one as well as body positioning and where best to grip. Less is more as I said.
Have a great week and I'll see you all next Tuesday. Ouss...
