Last night’s class was a little different at Essex Fighting Arts as we filmed our first proper instruction video with a technique defending against a jab / cross and ending in an arm trap. As seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVCW8rrdJJ8 I didn’t think it went too bad considering it’s my first go chatting to a camera, but we intend to do many more so will get more polished each time and also intend to edit the clips a lot better. The class last night was great as always and we went through some of the basic lead hand techniques as for one I was expecting a new student and two John had injured himself so was ideal. We worked through Dakup, Paglibut, Pa’ awas, Panastas, Guntings and Destructs so had plenty to drill in and improvise with other techniques and forms to get things flowing nicely. A big thanks to Will (the star of the video) and John who did the filming as I could not have done this without you. But as I mentioned, we will be doing many more so watch this space. See you all next week, Ouss…

AuthorSensei Dean Baldwin WelcomeWelcome to the Essex Fighting Arts Blog. I always try to give an overview for each class with a re-cap of what was taught, terminology & ethos behind the techniques used. As well as any introductions, announcements or fun things that happened during the session. Enjoy! 😉
