A great class last night at Essex Fighting Arts and welcome to Rebecca who came along and was thrown in the deep end with knife play but did a great job of picking it up (pardon the fun ha ha)
We got straight into some lamaco / Lacoste knife strips to get everyone used to two of the trips we use, but this is more hand eye coordination and feel than it is the whole picture and there is so much more to knife play than just this. But a great start and we wandered into Dikit (sticking) knife drill with a few people's brains looking like they would explode r at least overload as it does get quite dextrous using both hands, reacting and thinking on your feet. All good and we will revisit this as a few people could not make the class and I wouldn't want them to miss out.
Here is a video a long time ago of me running through Dikit with a student to give more of an idea. See you all next week, Ouss..
