A great class last night at Essex Fighting Arts www.essexfightingarts.weebly.com and welcome back to Ian. Initially we worked on full guard to half guard and stance. Adopting Bob Breens 'Breen lean' stance where its much easier to utilise shoulder rolls but also fight or flight gaining or losing ground by just extending or retracting the rear leg. So a straight rear leg, calf raised and stance long and thin, so harder to hit. Then getting into defending from a cross using shoulder rolls, elbow deflections and more.
To finish and it did finish some off ha ha. We got down to some dumog and Ron Balicki's Egyptian series of locks. But following training to Tony Davis and out on the concrete, we kept off the floor and kept the weight on their chest making it harder for them to breathe. While of course being bent up like an Egyptian.
Have a great week people and see you all next week. Ouss...
