A great class last night at Essex Fighting Arts www.essexfightingarts.weebly.com
Good to get straight back in the groove and with some basic entries and then into knife play. From a 3 and 4 attack, (stab, slash, stab, slash) we went through evading and with eye strikes. Then using figure 4 arm locks and take downs, working on the flank and Bob Breens 2 on 1 with arm bars but I forgot the rear sweeps but we'll do this next time. Also, feeding the knife back into them, different ways of stripping the blade and more.
A lot depends on the size of the knife and whether they have the intent to kill you obviously. But I always say that dexterity of movement, skill and coordination is a game changer when facing this kind of foe. A decent eye strike to start things off is my first thought to take their mind off the blade for a short while. All great and awesome to be back teaching you all. See you next time... Ouss...
