A great class last night at Essex Fighting Arts www.essexfightingarts.weebly.com
Good to get back into some single stick drills and primarily Sumbrada with both 6 and 10 count versions. Spent time getting students to move more rather than being planted on the 12 o'clock. Zoning and placing yourself in the best position to strike, counter or simply be out of range is so important. My views on single stick have changed a lot since training with Guro Bob Breen and I always try to implement this into all I teach.
Then on to dealing with the jab using elbow destructs, slips, guntings, leg kicks and more. Always a great atmosphere at the club and always a pleasure to teach. Have a great week and see you next time. Ouss...
